Fixing up the shoes

Ostin nämä kengät jo varmaan reilu vuosi sitten alennusmyynnistä, mutta ne ovat jääneet käyttämättöminä kaapin pohjalle, koska kengät hiertävät nilkkani verille. Vaihtoehtoina olis siis joko laittaa kengät eteenpäin tai keksiä keino millä korjata ne!

I bought these shoes about a year ago from sale, but they've been laying on my closet floor since they rub my ankles raw. So I had to choose between giving them away or coming up with a way to fix them!

Satuin löytämään äitini ompelukaapin kätköistä pussillien nahan palasia ja sain idean liimata paikat kenkiin jotta kenkien reunat eivät olisi niin terävät. Tein ensin paperista kaavat ja kun olin niihin tyytyväinen leikkasin palat nahasta ja liimasin ne paikoilleen pikaliimalla.

I found a bag of leather pieces from my mom's sewing closet and got an idea to glue patches to the shoes so that the edges of the shoes wouldn't be so sharp. First I made an template form paper and once I was happy with it I cut the pieces from the leather and glued them on place with super glue. 

Olen ehtinyt käyttää korjattuja kenkiä vasta muutaman kerran, mutta täytyy sanoa että nyt ne tuntuvat paljon mukavammilta kuin ennen, vaikkei niillä ihan lenkille asti vieläkään voi lähteä! :P

I've only gotten to use the fixed shoes for few time,s but I have to say that now they feel much more comfortable than before, even though I still wouldn't wear them to hiking! :P

Refashioning clothes

Tällä viikolla olen lähinnä puuhaillut ei-mini projektien parissa. Sain tuunattua kahdet farkut (otin niitä sisään ja muutin pillifarkuiksi, sekä tein toisiin farkkuihin reikiä, mitkä sitten peitin nurjalta puolelta paljettikankaalla) ja otettua sisään yhden topin ja suunnittelin aloittelevani toisen topin koristelua...

This week I've been keeping myself quite busy with non-miniature projects. I've refashioned two pairs of old jeans (by taking them both in and making them into skinnies and for the other pair making few holes and then covering them with sequin fabric from the reverse side) and taken in one top and now I'm going to start embellishing another top...

I don't have a before-picture of these jeans but they were a few sizes too big...

Refashioned Cluch

Ostin tämän laukun H&Mstä 10 eurolla. Laukun kuosi ja värit ovat ihania, mutta laukku itsessään on turhan suuri cluch-laukuksi joten päädyin ompelemaan siihen kaksi magneettinappia pitämään laukkua taitettuna.
I bought this cluch from H&M for 10€. I loved the pattern and colors but the bag itself is a bit too big for a cluch so I endned up sewing two magnetic buttons to hold it folded. Now it's a way better sized. I can't wait to try it out!

Magneettinapit joita käytin. Itse en käyttäisi näitä enää uudestaan, sillä ne eivät ollet kauhean tehokkaita.
 These are the magnetic buttons that I used. I wouldn't use these again in a project like this since they didn't end up being all that good.

Ja laukku on valmis. Ja paljon paremman kokoinen. En malta odottaa päästä käyttämään sitä!
It's done. And now it's a way better sized. I can't wait to try it out!
