I finally tackled a project I've been meaning to do for a long time now but still haven't done it, the roof! It's been over three months since I last even thought about it and this is what it looked like then.
Ja tältä se näyttää nykyään. Tiedän, se näyttää ihan samalta, mutta itseasiassa olen tehnyt sen kokonaan uusiksi eri materiaalista. Alkuperäinen katto oli tarkoitus tehdä ohuesta puulevystä, mutta koska jouduin luopumaan erillisestä työtilastani päädyin tekemään uudenkaton vähemmän sotkevasta vaihtoehdoista 5mm foamboardista ja 2mm pahvista. Isot palat on vielä liimaamatta yhteen, kun en ole varma olisiko järkevämpää tapetoida sisäpinnat nyt kun katto on vielä osissa.
And this is how it looks like now. I know it looks just the same, but I actually made it again from the scratch with different materials. The first version was going to be made of thin wood but since I had to move out of my workspace I ended up remaking the roof with 5mm foamboard and 2mm cardboard. The big pieces still needs to be glued together but I'm not sure if it would be easier to wallpaper the insides of if now.
Koska tämä nukkekodin osat on sahattu käsin, huomaan etteivät kaikki palaset sovikaan yhteen aivan täydellisesti. :( Myös levy, mitä käytin olikin hieman kieroa, mutta ei niin paljon etteikö sen kanssa voisi elää. Toivon vain että saan säädettyä etupaneleiden välissä olevaa rakoa pienemmäksi saranoiden avulla ja jos ei muu auta niin ainahan voin paikata rakoa pienellä palalla puuta.
Since this dollhouse is cut by hand I noticed that all the pieces doesn't fit together perfectly. :( Also the borad used is a little warped but nothing too bad, I just hope that I can adjust this gap with the hinges and if nothing else I'll add a thin slice of wood to one of the panels.
Mulle kävi myös pieni mittavirhe katon kanssa, mutta kattolaatat taitavat peittää tuon aikas hyvin, ainakin toivon niin.
I also had a little measuring accident with the roof but the shingels will cover it pretty well (I hope).
