Time to get busy!

Sain tänään kuulla että väliaikaiseen työtilaani muuttaa uusi asukas 31. päivä. Ja koska itse olen lähdössä joulun viettoon 21. päivä minulle jää aikaa vain kaksi päivää saada sahaukset ja hiomiset valmiiksi ja siivottua jälkeni.

I was told that my current (temporary) workspace is getting an new resident. She moves in on the 31st. Since I'm leaving for the holidays on the 21st I have only two days to finnish sawing and sanding the rest of my dollhouse parts and clean up.

Vielä pitäisi sahata kaksi ikkuna-aukkoa ja nuo dormerien palaset ja niiden aukot kattoon. Ja tietenkin hioa kaikki. Loput voinkin jo tehdä asunnossani kun eivät ole niin pölyisiä hommia.

I still have two window holes to cut and I have to make the dormer pieces and cut the holes for them on the roof. And of course sand everything. Everything else can be done in my appartment since they aren't so dusty jobs.

Early Christmas present for myself

Tänään saapui Miniature and Craft UTn paketti. Heillä on alennusmyyti jouluun asti ja en vain voinut vastustaa näitä! Olkoon tämä ennenaikainen joululahja itselleni jottei omaatuntoa kolota kun taas sorruin ostamaan jotain nukkekotiin.

Today I got a package from Miniature and Craft UT. They are having a sale untill Christmas and I just couldn't resist buying these! Let this be an early Christmas present for myself so that my conscience doesn't start nagging for buying something for the dollhouse again!

Kun näin tämän led-kattokuruunun se oli aivan pakko saada... se maksoi alennuksella 21,50€ ja on plajon paremman näköinen kun muut tähän asti näkemäni led-kattokruunut (lukuun ottamatta mutamaa himo kallista). Nyt hieman harmittaa etten tilannut näitä useampia, sillä ne myytiin loppuun hetkessä ja olisin voinut ottaa jokaiseen alakerran huoneeseen tällaisen.

When I saw this led chandelier I just had to have it... as it was on sale for 21,50€ and was way better looking than the other led chandeliers I've seen so far (that weren't crazy expencive). Now I'm a bit bummed that I didn't buy more of them as they were sold out and I could have used them on all of the main floor rooms.

Lisäksi sain mahtavia "tilaajalahjoja" joille kyllä löytyy käyttöä!

I also got some awesome gifts that I'm planning on putting to a god use!

Löysin myös Presentosta nämä skräppäykseen tarkoitetut koristeet (ainakin oletan niiden olevan). Tuosta ovaalista osasta saa minusta oivat kattokoristeen.

I also found these reisin pieses that are originally for scrapbooking (at least I thing they are) from Presento.  And I thought that the oval piece would make a perfect cielling medallion.

Luuken myös nähneeni tämän Sastamalan TS Käsityössä (Presentossa tätä ei ollut) joten nyt täytyy käydä piipahtamassa siellä ja tarkistamassa muistinko oikein. Heillä on myös sattumoisin alennusmyynti menossa, joten olisin tullut käyneeksi siellä varmasti muutenkin!

I think that I have seen this one in Sastalama's TS Käsityö (they didn't have this one in Presento) so now I have to pop there to see if I remember right, and they are also having a sale so I would be going to there anyway!

Nukkekotini alkaa vihdoinkin näyttää talolta!

My dollhouse is starting to look like a house instead of pile of wood!

Vielä pitäisi sahata aukot lopuille ikkunoille ja ovelle, keksiä miten rakennan "dormerit" (mikäköhän tämäkin taas on suomeksi, on sille nyt pakko olla joku fiksumpi sana kuin vinokaton pystyikkuna), kiinnittää saranat paikoilleen, sahata alimman kerroksen lattia ja väliseinät, hioa ja pohjustaa kaikki pinnat ja ja ja... Ehkä se ei olekaan niin lähellä valmista kun ajattelin! Ai niin ja nyt pitäisi päättää tuleeko taloon sähköt vai ei!

I still need to do rest of the holes for windows and door, figure out how to build the dormers, but hinges in place, cut the floor for the main floor, make the dividing walls, sand and prime everything and and... Maybe the house isn't so near finishing after all! Oh and now I have to decide if I'm going to run electricity to the house or not!

Tästä kuvasta näkee paremmin alimman kerroksen ikkunoiden koko eron. Taidan kallistua tuon korkeamman ikkunan puolelle, mutta antaa nyt päätöksen teon hautua viikonlopun yli ennen kun teen mitään. (Älkää välittäkö siitä että kaikki pienet ikkunat ovat ylösalaisin!)

Here you can see the difference of the main floor windows. I thing I like the taller one better but I'll let it sit over the weekend before I decide anything. (And lets ignore that all the smaller windows are upside down!)

Mietin myös jos olisin käyttänyt samoja ikkunoita kun käytin toisessa kerroksessa, mutta ne eivät ole yhtä ylevän näköisiä kuin nuo kaksi muuta vaihtoehtoa...


I was also thinking of using the same windows on the main floor that I used on the first floor, but it doesn't look as grand as the other two window options...

Oops, I did it again!

Sain itseäni viimein niskasta kiinni ja aloitin kokoamaan nukkekotia. Olisin koonnut sitä pidemmällekin ellei Blackendeckeristä olisi loppunut virta. No sain sentään sivu- ja takaseinät kiinni toisiinsa levyn kieroilusta huolimatta. Samalla kun mallailin ovea ja ikkunoita etuseinään, huomasin että mulle oli käynyt pieni kämmi tilatessani ikkunoita...

I finally started to piece the house together and I would have done more but my borrowed Blackanddecker ran out of power. At least I got the side walls and the back wall assembled. As I was "fitting" the door and windows to the front wall I noticed that I had had a little accident while ordering the new windows...

Jälkeen päin tilaamani ikkuna olikin pienempi kuin jo olemassa oleva! Nyt onkin sitten miettiminen kumpaa ikkunaa tilaan toisen lisää ja mistä.

One of the windows that I ordered wasn't the same one that I already had, it was a bit smaller! Now I have to deside wich one I'll oder one more and from where.


Tässä on mitä muuta paketista tuli. Olen suunnitellut maalaavani kaikki ikkunat vaalean harmaalla jotta ne muistuttaisivat enemmän kiveä.

Refashioned Cluch

Ostin tämän laukun H&Mstä 10 eurolla. Laukun kuosi ja värit ovat ihania, mutta laukku itsessään on turhan suuri cluch-laukuksi joten päädyin ompelemaan siihen kaksi magneettinappia pitämään laukkua taitettuna.
I bought this cluch from H&M for 10€. I loved the pattern and colors but the bag itself is a bit too big for a cluch so I endned up sewing two magnetic buttons to hold it folded. Now it's a way better sized. I can't wait to try it out!

Magneettinapit joita käytin. Itse en käyttäisi näitä enää uudestaan, sillä ne eivät ollet kauhean tehokkaita.
 These are the magnetic buttons that I used. I wouldn't use these again in a project like this since they didn't end up being all that good.

Ja laukku on valmis. Ja paljon paremman kokoinen. En malta odottaa päästä käyttämään sitä!
It's done. And now it's a way better sized. I can't wait to try it out!
